Shri Krishna Murthy graduated with distinction in History, Economics and Political Science from St. Joseph’s College, Bangalore. He completed his post graduation in Economics from MS University, Baroda and Law from the University of Madras, with distinction and first class, and then studied at the University of Bath, U.K. under Colombo Plan to qualify for M.Sc (Fiscal Studies).
He joined the Indian Revenue Service in 1963. After having worked in various capacities in the Income Tax Department, he became Commissioner of Income Tax, Chennai in 1986.
He worked as Member Secretary, Shipping Development Funds committee (1975-78), General Manager, Hindustan Shipyard Limited, Visakhapatnam (1979-82) on deputation.
In 1990, he served as Joint Secretary in the Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance dealing with tax policy and later Foreign Tax matters. He was closely associated with Direct Tax Reforms in 1991, 1992 and 1993 historic budgets. He was promoted as Chief Commissioner of Income Tax in October, 1993 and in that capacity he worked at Delhi and Bombay.
He was elevated as Additional Secretary, Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance in 1995. In 1996, he was sent as Tax Advisor by International Monetary Fund to Government of Ethiopia. Later, he was sent as part of IMF Fiscal Mission to Georgia to advice the Government of Georgia on tax reforms.
Shri Krishna Murthy was appointed as Secretary to the Government of India, Department of Company Affairs in January 1997, being the first member of Indian Revenue Service to be elevated as Secretary. He initiated and implemented number of legislative changes to improve corporate governance and protect investors’ interests.
He was selected in 2003 as a member of team constituted by Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance, Sweden to study, advice and report on the electoral system in Indonesia.
He was also a member of the Commonwealth observation team for overseeing elections in Zimbabwe/Uganda.
He was invited to observe elections in U.S.A., Russia, Mexico and Palestine.
He was appointed by the Supreme Court of India as an observer for conducting the most aggressively fought Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) elections in 2005, which was later endorsed by the Supreme Court of India.
Shri. V. Subramanian retired from the Indian Administrative Service from the post of Secretary to the Government in the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy. He has a rich and varied experience in Finance, Aviation, Tourism, Power and Labour.
Currently He is the Chairman & CEO of the Indian Wind Energy Association.
Dr. K V Swaminathan, an engineer, scientist & technocrat is a specialist in design of Arch Dams, Technology transfer and intellectual property. A former Adviser in the Ministry of Science & Technology, he is the Chairman of the Waterfalls Institute of Technology Transfer. He was also the Chairman of Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute and Research Centre. He was formerly Controller General of Patents, designs & trademarks; Professor at Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore and Director – United Nations Asian and Pacific Centre for Transfer of Technology.
Sh. Ramesh Narayanaswami is an IAS officer of the Union Territories Cadre, 1971 Batch, and he retired from government service in November, 2007, as Chief Secretary, Govt. of NCT of Delhi. Prior to this, he had served on a number of important posts both in the Central Government and in the Govts. of various States and Union Territories such as Goa, Arunachal Pradesh and Andaman & Nicobar Islands. He has a couple of patents to his credit and has won a few wards for innovation besides being a reputed consultant in the IT industry. He co-founded the Expert Software Consultants Ltd., New Delhi iandKriti Labs in Chennai. An Electronics Engineering graduate of IIT Khargpur and a Software Engineering PhD from BITs Pilani, Dr.Rajaram brings to the social problems he addresses an innovative technological approach for effective solutions.
